Cason Adams: b. Macon, Georgia. Graduate Atlanta College Of Art
Having been born into an artistic family, it was apparent from an early age that the next generation to put brush to canvas was well on his way. Inspiration was never far at hand. "I have vivid memories of my grandmother's home filled with paintings done by my great grandmother. The subject matter was wildly diverse. Everything from a still life to a wolf attacking a stag." These paintings hang in family members. homes today. "I never lacked encouragement from my family and teachers. I have fond memories of going to the art store. The smell of the oil paint, the pristine white of a new drawing pad. I still feel that excitement today when I walk into the local art shop for supplies." In his senior year at ACA, Fay Gold, owner and director of the most prestigious contemporary gallery in the Southeast, immediately recognized Cason's talent. Through her guidance and support, Cason's work is in many private and corporate collections throughout America.
Statement: My recent work signals a return to the stage of large-scale painting. I have long been fascinated with the ambiguity we encounter in our everyday lives. In today's world, society is constantly inundated with multiple choices on any topic imaginable. Often, the viewer is placed in the role of voyeur. Left to extrapolate his or her own story. My intention is not to confuse or clarify, but simply to allow an emotional experience to take place based on ones memories and life experiences.
